
This may be mistaken for pelvic floor dysfunction but can actually be coming from entrapment of the Genitofemoral nerve (highlighted). Entrapments can occur much higher than the symptoms present as the nerve passes through the Psoas (hip flexor) in the lumbar spine. Tightness in this muscle can therefore cause entrapment of this nerve.
