EDUCATIONAL PHYSICAL THERAPY POSTS BY DR. SABRINA J GRAY

Numbness, tingling, burning in the groin (Scrotum or Labia), lower abdomen/ top of groin, or upper inner thigh?

This may be mistaken for pelvic floor dysfunction but can actually be coming from entrapment of the Genitofemoral nerve (highlighted). Entrapments can occur much higher than the symptoms present as the nerve passes through the Psoas (hip flexor) in the lumbar spine. Tightness in this muscle can therefore cause entrapment of this nerve.
This can also occur following various abdominal surgeries. Don’t worry, target myofascial release techniques like ART along with exercises prescribed for your unique case will solve this problem.
